About the Initiative
The Preparing a New Generation of Leaders in the Health Professions Initiative
(the Initiative) is based upon the premise that collective intelligence from
a wide spectrum of leaders can help UCSF’s Office of Student Academic Affairs
enhance its capacity to educate a new cadre of student leaders in the health
sciences.
Mirroring UCSF's strategic plan, which emphasizes drawing upon the skills
and knowledge base of experts in many disciplines, UCSF's Office of Student
Academic Affairs will engage national leaders, including UCSF staff, students
and faculty, to address five issue areas: educational technology; diversity;
leadership development; trends in health care; and student support services.
Participants will be able to support the Initiative by serving as advisors,
student mentors, and support to UCSF faculty and staff.
